Requiring an investment of roughly €158 million, the farm will have 23 wind turbines, each with a planned capacity of 5.7 MW. Every year it will generate the equivalent of 608 gigawatts per hour (GWh), enough to power 478,000 households, and prevent the emission of 275,000 tons of CO2. It will be operational by the end of 2023 and will be part of ACCIONA Energía’s Social Impact Management Program, which reinvests some of the revenue from its facilities to improve the training, well-being, and environmental management of nearby communities. The facility in question, Hospital de La Serena, will be one of the biggest healthcare centers in the Coquimbo region and will serve a population of around 700,000 people. It will have 668 beds, 15 wards, and 85 consultation spaces in a facility spread across 121,000 square meters, requiring a total investment of €207 million. In addition to its design and construction, ACCIONA will manage its operation for 15 years.
