20TH ANNIVERSARY A tunnel boring machine in the construction of Deep Lake Water Cooling. Site C (right): one of the largest hydroelectric plants in North America. Their maiden project was Deep Lake Water Cooling, a system com-prising 15 km of pipes extracting water from the depths of Lake Ontario to cool around 100 large buildings in Toronto’s financial center, saving up to 90% of energy in air conditioning. Another flagship project Is the Site C Clean Energy Project, in British Columbia, one of the major hydroelectric dams in North America, with 1,100 MW. The iconic Walterdale Bridge (Edmonton) on the North Saskatche-wan River, a 230-meter through arch construction, is a forerunner to the Pattullo bridge being built in Vancouver. The New Brunswick water treatment plant, capable of processing 75 million liters daily to service 70,000 people in the city of Saint John. There are also five wind farms with a total of almost 300MW, more than 100km of highways such as the A-30 in Montreal, the Fort Saint John, and Royal Jubilee Hospital (in Victoria), both with LEED efficiency certification for energy efficiency and sustainable design, or the current extension of the Broadway Metro, with six stations and twin tunnels. It will be an extension of the Millennium Line in Vancouver to connect some of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city.
