community. As a result, we are deeply involved in networking with partners, subcontractors, suppliers, competitors, and clients. We are talking about an infrastructure market that is mature and uniform with transparent and reliable tendering and procurement processes; a market that’s been stable for a long time despite changes in government. When a client proposes a project, they are clear on the characteristics, risks, financing and are focused on precise time frames being met. However, in the United States, each State operates independently. As a result, they impose more barriers to entry. They are also more exposed to political and economic changes, which can delay tenders for years. It’s a strate-gic country, without a doubt, but due to its complexity, we are focusing mainly on California, Texas, and Florida. If the United States and Canada are different, why manage them together? Both countries share significant similarities, and many companies work on both sides of the border. From a business perspective, it is one region. It makes sense for ACCIONA Infrastructure to integrate both countries. Having that North American vision allows us to optimize our resources and focus them where they are most needed. We can be more selective when choosing projects which helps in avoiding unnecessary risks. Instead of competing for everything in such a large market, we will instead select the most attractive projects that create the most value, whether they are in Calgary or Louisiana. ENTREVISTA
