NEWs FARGO CHANNEL: A CITY PROTECTED FROM EXTREME FLOODS READ MORE FIRST INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENERGY COMPANY TO CERTIFY ITS CIRCULAR ECONOMY STRATEGY READ MORE The new 48-kilometer-long infrastructure will deviate water from the extreme floods that occur periodically in the city of Fargo and surrounding areas in the U.S. states of North Dakota and Minnesota. The contract has been awarded in consortium with Shikun & Binui and North American Construction Group, has a budget of €2.34 billion and includes planning, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of the canal for 29 years, along with its auxiliary infrastructure such as 19 bridges, four railway crossings and two aqueducts, among others. AENOR has awarded ACCIONA the Circular Economy Business Strategy certification, after auditing the entire organization, in addition to its value and supply chain. The result certifies its commitment to circularity through measures that extend the life cycle of its products and facilities, reduce consumption of resources and raw materials, and minimize waste generation. Thanks to this policy, the Energy division surpasses the waste reuse rate (for example, sludge and ash approved in agriculture, soil recovery or cement manufacturing) by 90%, and the infrastructure division will use excavated material to restore quarry zones or convert them into aggregate in construction projects such as the Malaga Metro.
