NEWS FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF 2022 AN ALL-TIME RECORD FOR THE INFRASTRUCTURE PORTFOLIO READ MORE A PARTNERSHIP TO SET UP AND OPERATE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING POINTS IN SPAIN READ MORE READ MORE €201 MILLION FOR ACCIONA NET PROFIT OF ACCIONA’s net profit rose 35.6% in the first half of 2022, reflecting solid growth in its main businesses, while net financial debt fell 13% year-on-year, to €5.041 billion. Once again, the infrastructure division set a new revenue record: €2.648 billion (+20.6%), with EBITDA of €149 million (+18.8%). The construction division gave a particularly outstanding performance (€2.003 billion invoiced, up by 25.3%, and a 49.2% increase in EBITDA, to €84 million), despite a decreased contribution by the concessions business following the divestment of a portfolio of assets in Spain. ACCIONA’s total revenue was €5.177 billion (+45.6%), with EBITDA of €1.064 billion (+65.5%). Net investments totaled €1.217 billion (€770 million in energy, €143 million in infrastructure, and €82 million in real estate inventory). It also allocated €139 million to the capital increase carried out by Nordex in June. Meanwhile, ACCIONA Energía posted EBITDA of €909 million (+81.7%) and invoiced €2.206 billion (+111.9%). €1.191 billion of this came from power generation activities and the remaining €1.015 billion from the sale of renewable energy to corporate customers. Qwello will contribute its user platform, its proprietary hardware and software-equipped charger technology, and its experience in cities like Stockholm, Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin. ACCIONA Energía, meanwhile, will be responsible for supplying 100% renewable power and for operating and maintaining the charging points. It also brings to the table its status as the premier retailer of 100% renewable energy to companies in Spain, and a leader in intercity charging. The aim is strategic for the decarbonization of transportation given the minimal penetration of public charging points in Spanish cities (barely 2% of the total). “Together, we want to create a leading provider of urban public charging infrastructure in Spain in terms of technology, user friendliness, and sustainability,” explains Qwello CEO Henrik Thiele.
