Spanning a distance of 2.8 kilometers and with a budget of €88.1 million, the project encompasses the track platform and superstructure, the Bengoetxe and Galdakao stations, as well as the Olabarrieta and Abusu ventilation and emergency tunnels. The machinery is expected to start drilling in September and the work has an estimated completion time of 48 months in order to meet the institutional commitment to reach the center of Galdakao by 2027. The company is to begin work on the construction of the Ermidas do Sado treatment plant in the district of Setubal to remove pollutants from industrial water —50% of the treated water— and return it to the environment without causing a negative impact. This is made possible through the installation of a biological treatment line featuring a pretreatment system —used for the first time in the country— consisting of a lamination tank that reduces the surface area of the plant, and a high-performance biofilter to reduce odors, among other technologies. This €1.3 million project, including a one-year commissioning period, was awarded by Águas Públicas do Alentejo, a client with whom ACCIONA has previously partnered on projects such as the Alcácer do Sal treatment plant, the Monte da Rocha treatment plant, as well as the renovation of the Alvito water treatment plant. In addition to providing these two types of solutions for residential customers and SME’s, Solideo also offers storage batteries, charging points for electric vehicles and aerothermal air conditioning systems. Despite being in operation for only three years, its notable position in some of these markets, such as capturing a 20% share in self-supply in Catalonia, is one of the reasons that has led ACCIONA Energía, in a joint-venture with ACCIONA, to acquire a majority stake in the firm. Furthermore, Solideo’s business plan comprises various new segments such as distributed generation, the creation of solar communities and energy marketing.
